What is “Quadratic Funding”?

In short, quadratic funding is an exercise to allow (near) optimal provision of a decentralized, self-organizing ecosystem of public goods. Decentralized crowdfunding has historically been the first step to achieving this model. Quadratic funding is the next step and ultimate evolution of fair and balanced fundraising vehicles.

In essence, it serves as an optimal fix to the ‘tragedy of the commons issue, where it rewards projects for attracting large numbers of funders.
