Private Goods

What are "Private Goods"?

Private goods are those that are limited in use - for example, an apple farmer who sells apples is selling private goods. Should someone purchase one of these apples, she would own something that nobody else can make use of or consume. In the realm of cryptocurrencies, private goods extend to most NFTs, where someone holding a non-fungible asset in their wallet has completely limited the exposure of others to the asset they own.

Put simply, private goods in the cryptocurrency realm are self-owned where the purchaser maintains full control of the asset itself.
